London feed wheat for May 2025 remained steady at £156.00, showing minimal change from the previous week's close of £155.95. A general improvement in the grain market has been met with the offsetting pressure of a stronger sterling. The carry to the July 2025 contract widened to £5.00. Meanwhile, the November 2025 contract rose by 1.4% to £181.75, up from last week's £179.20. This increase mirrors gains in global wheat markets, driven by improved demand outlooks.

On Hectare Trading, feed wheat saw price offers up to £180 in North East Scotland for April 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £5, and achieved offers of £174 in the West Midlands for May 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £4.

Paris milling wheat for September 2025 climbed 1.6% to £173.44 (€206.00), compared to the prior week's closing price of £170.71 (€202.75). Prices have now registered gains for three consecutive days, buoyed by strong export demand and forecasts of lower stock levels. The carry to the December 2025 contract narrowed to £8.42.

On Hectare Trading, Group 1 wheat received price offers of £195 in the East Midlands for April 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £5.

Paris rapeseed for August 2025 increased by 1.6% to £403.09 (€478.75), from last week's close of £396.78 (€471.25). This movement is in line with trends in the broader vegetable oil market. The carry to the November 2025 contract narrowed to £3.16.

Elsewhere on Hectare Trading, milling oats saw price offers of £153 in the West Midlands for April 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £8. Feed barley achieved price offers of £171 in North East Scotland for April 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £7.

🌾Barley is wanted for delivery into the West, Midlands and Scotland. Last week, we saw a standout price of £172 for June movement in the West Midlands!

🌾 Gluten-free oats are also in demand — these must not have been grown directly after wheat, barley, or rye. There could be a £20+ premium on the right oats 💸. A sample is required before pricing can be confirmed. The buyers are looking for these oats from June onwards.
