Wheat and Rapeseed Prices Climb Amid Strong Export Demand and Global Tensions

London feed wheat for July 2025 rose to £163.30, up 3.1% from last week's closing price of £158.40. The November contract rose to £184.75, up 2.7% from last week's closing price of £179.85. Domestic prices followed global commodity markets on the back of conflict in the Middle East, and supported by fresh export demand from Tunisia and Algeria as well as weather concerns. The carry to November 2025 remains unchanged at £21.45.

On Hectare Trading, new crop feed wheat saw offers up to £192 in Central Scotland for November 2025 movement, old crop achieved prices of up to £181 in North East Scotland for June 2025 movement. In the East Midlands, new crop had offers up to £180 for December 2025 movement and old crop received price offers up to £175 in Yorkshire for June 2025 movement.

Paris milling wheat for September 2025 rose to €209.00 (£178.59) ), up 3.1% from last week's closing price of £173.25 (€202.75). The carry to December 2025 widened to £9.61.

On Hectare Trading, new crop Group 1 wheat achieved offers up to £211 in Essex for November 2025 movement and old crop saw prices of up to £197 in the West Midlands for June 2025 movement. Group 3 wheat received offers of £171 in Yorkshire and the Humber for August 2025 movement. Group 4 (hard) wheat saw offers up to £185 in North East Scotland for July 2025 movement, with an offer range of £10, and new crop Group 4 (soft) wheat achieved up to £198 in North East Scotland for January 2026 movement.

Paris rapeseed for August 2025 rose to €500.25 (£427.45), up 1.1% from last week's closing price of €494.75 (£422.75) and more than 5% up (+€25.75, ~£22) on the start of the month. This is the first time the August contract has exceeded €500/t since February. The market has been supported by the rise in oil prices, due to its use in biodiesel, following the continued Israel-Iran conflict. The carry to November 2025 sits at €6.50 (£5.55).

On Hectare Trading, oilseed rape received price offers of £425 in the West Midlands for September 2025 movement. This was before the latest rise in markets yesterday. For sellers who have not yet sold much of their 2025 crop forward, this could be the time to consider it.

Elsewhere on Hectare Trading, milling oats saw offers up to £151 in the South West for December 2025 movement, with an offer range of £8. Feed beans achieved prices of up to £233 in the East Midlands for October 2025 movement, with an offer range of an incredible £23. Feed barley received offers up to £161 in Oxfordshire for June 2025 movement, with an offer range of £21, and £152 in Yorkshire for June 2025 movement. Malting barley achieved £155 in the East Midlands for June 2025 movement.
