Global supply pressure weighs on wheat prices
London feed wheat for November 2025 fell to £177.70, down 1.3% from last week's closing price of £179.95. Domestic wheat prices tracked global markets lower, pressured by expectations of ample global supplies, though weakness in sterling offered some support. The carry to May 2026 widened to £11.70.
On Hectare Trading, new crop feed wheat achieved price offers of £189 in the Scottish Borders for November 2025 movement and saw offers of £177 in the South West for July 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £7.
Paris milling wheat for September 2025 fell to €197.00 (£171.84), down 2.7% from last week's closing price of €202.50 (£176.64). The carry to December 2025 narrowed to £7.85.
On Hectare Trading, new crop Group 1 wheat received price offers up to £208 in the West Midlands for July 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £10. Old crop Group 4 soft wheat saw price offers of £195 in North East Scotland for July 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £14.
Paris rapeseed for August 2025 rose to €476.00 (£415.21), up 0.6% from last week's closing price of €473.00 (£412.60). Strength came from gains across the wider vegetable oil complex, despite weaker Winnipeg canola futures. The carry to November 2025 narrowed to £5.67.
On Hectare Trading, new crop oilseed rape achieved offers of £408 in the South West for August 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £5.
Elsewhere on Hectare Trading, new crop feed barley saw offers up to £163 in Central Scotland for July 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £25, and achieved offers of £154 in the West Midlands for July 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £11. New crop malting barley saw price offers of £170 in Yorkshire and the Humber for October 2025 movement.
