Feed wheat declines on sterling strength and harvest pressure
Feed Wheat
London feed wheat for November 2025 fell to £173.10, down 0.8% from last week's closing price of £174.55. This is partly due to bearish market sentiment, ongoing harvest pressure across the Northern Hemisphere, and a stronger sterling. The carry to May 2026 narrowed to £11.70.
On Hectare Trading, new crop feed wheat achieved offers up to £183 in North East Scotland for August 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £15, and saw offers of £182 in East Anglia for the same movement, with a price offer range of £22.
Milling Wheat
Paris milling wheat for September 2025 rose to €197.50 (£171.46), up 1.5% from last week's closing price of €194.50 (£168.85). Price volatility is being driven by harvest pressure, currency changes, and technical trading in the wake of a rain delaying harvest progress. The carry to December 2025 narrowed to £3.47.
On Hectare Trading, new crop Group 1 wheat saw offers of £195 in East Anglia for December 2025 movement, new crop Group 2 wheat saw offers of £173 in the East Midlands for August 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £8, and new crop Group 3 wheat received offers up to £195 in Yorkshire and the Humber for October 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £22. New crop Group 4 hard wheat achieved offers up to £176 in Yorkshire and the Humber for August 2025 movement, with a price offer range of £5, and new crop Group 4 soft wheat saw offers of £177 in North East Scotland for November 2025 movement.
Oilseeds
Paris rapeseed for November 2025 slipped to €473.75 (£411.28), down 0.3% from last week's closing price of €475.00 (£412.36). The market has largely followed movements in Winnipeg canola futures. The carry to February 2026 narrowed to £4.77.
On Hectare Trading, new crop oilseed rape achieved offers up to £377 in North East Scotland for August 2025 movement. Looking ahead, harvest 2026 linseed received forward offers of £590 in Yorkshire and the Humber for August 2026 movement, with a price offer range of £65.
Other Grains
Elsewhere on Hectare Trading, new crop feed barley saw offers up to £167 in Yorkshire and the Humber for November 2025 movement. Malting barley achieved offers of £177 in the South East for January 2026 movement.
