London feed wheat for May 2025 rose to £158.65, up 2.4% from last week's closing price of £155.00. The carry to July 2025 widened to £6.00. The November 2025 contract rose to £185.45, up 2.3% from last week's closing price of £181.35. Market sentiment is being underpinned by weather concerns across Northern Europe, China, and Russia. A state of emergency has been declared in the Rostov region, Russia’s largest grain-producing area.
On Hectare Trading feed wheat saw price offers up to £188 in Central Scotland, with a bid spread of £4, and £175 in the West Midlands, both for May 2025 movement.
Paris milling wheat for September 2025 rose to £175.99 (€209.25), up 2.4% from last week's closing price of £171.78 (€204.25). The carry to December 2025 widened to £9.46.
On Hectare Trading Group 4 (hard) wheat received price offers up to £175 in Yorkshire and the Humber for May 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £3. Group 4 (soft) wheat achieved strong offers up to £208 in North East Scotland for January 2026 movement, with a wide bid spread of £33 – highlighting the opportunities for forward selling.
Paris rapeseed for August 2025 rose to £411.48 (€489.25), up 1.1% from last week's closing price of £406.85 (€483.75), rebounding from a drop the prior day. Despite the ongoing risk of dryness in Europe, weather concerns for Australian and Ukrainian crops provided market support. The carry to November 2025 narrowed to £3.15.
Elsewhere on Hectare Trading, milling oats saw price offers up to £153 in the East Midlands for May 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £8. Feed barley received offers up to £172 in North East Scotland for May 2025 movement, with a bid spread of £7.
