US wheat supplies pressure global markets

Feed Wheat

Tuesday’s USDA Grain Stocks report showed US wheat supplies up 6% year-on-year, adding to pressure on global wheat markets. After falling to a low of £164.05 on Tuesday, London feed wheat (November 2025) ended Thursday at £165.15.

On Hectare Trading, feed wheat received offers up to £177 in Yorkshire and the Humber for December 2025 movement.

Milling Wheat

AHDB’s final Harvest Progress report for 2025 indicated that the quality of Group 1 wheat samples in the UK is generally good. Meanwhile, Paris milling wheat (December 2025) weakened to €188.00 (£163.91).

In East Anglia, Group 1 wheat saw offers up to £191 for June 2026 movement. Forward-selling of Group 2 wheat achieved £182 in Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire for May 2026 movement.

Highest offers for Group 4 (hard) wheat included £178 in Northumberland & Scottish Borders for February 2026 movement, with a price offer range of £6. Group 4 (soft) wheat received offers up to £175 in Central Scotland for January 2026 movement.

Oilseeds

After hitting €473.50 on 24 September, Paris rapeseed (November 2025) eased back to close Thursday at €462.00 (£402.79) in a nervous market.

Other Crop

Elsewhere on Hectare Trading, feed barley for December 2025 movement achieved £160 in Yorkshire and the Humber.

We also saw feed beans receive offers up to £222 for November 2025 movement in the North West, with a price offer range of £17, and milling oats saw offers up to £143 for February 2026 movement in the East Midlands.

🌾 87t of feed barley is wanted for delivery to Wiltshire. Collection from surrounding counties. Wanted at £153-158/t ex-farm for October/November movement.

🌾 203t of feed barley is wanted for delivery to Shropshire. Collection from the West Midlands, Cheshire, Herefordshire, and Staffordshire. Wanted at £153-160/t ex-farm for October/November movement.
